It had the best combat in any MMO I've ever played (save Destiny, but they are different types of games).

Plus they had the best player housing system I've ever seen on a game, where you have bidding wars on the website itself on the house you wanted then once you win pay monthly rent and decorate your own house. But going back to the point the grindfest worked so well into the gameplay loop, kill monsters, loot items, sometimes rare and expensive, creature parts, and gold, sell everything do it again until you're strong enough or cocky enough to try a harder location and do it all over again. I've never seen a game get DDOSed as much as Tibia lmao. Tibia is of course no where near as popular as it's a 2d game with very unforgiving mechanics, and the only reason it's not my main game is because I'm from NZ and the developer refuses to open an oceanic server, and I'm basically stuck on 400ping on a very ping dependant game, and the tunnelers the used to work don't anymore because of in-house changes made I think to prevent DDOS attacks. I think FF14 very loosely touches on this with those hunting challenges, but it's definitely not as fun. There are a wealth of different hunting grounds and monsters to waste your time away. Tibia does it the best but it's basically a core game mechanic, as that's the main way to level up. Grind fests can work 100% if they're done right and not the main focus, I think it can be a huge part of an mmo experience. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
